Indications

Everybody using RAW I/O (e.g. with Oracle) needs this update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

There exists a bug in the raw command which makes it basically impossible to use raw-Devices.
This update fixes the problem.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Uhv devs.rpm
rpm -Uhv rawio.rpm
