Problem description

This update addresses several buffer overflows in the ethereal code. These buffer overflows can be used to gain remote access to a system where ethereal is running on. (CAN-2004-0176, CAN-2004-0367, CAN-2004-0365)


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh ethereal.rpm
