Problem description

This update contains three fixes for three different problems:

Hypertext Caching Protocol (HTCP) support has been disabled. Also, a patch has been added to fix the bug that the "htcp_port 0" directive did not disable listening on the HTCP port. (This bug is relevant only when HTCP is compiled in.)
Malformed ftp:// URLs can cause squid to crash.
The SNMP routines in the squid daemon leak memory, which can lead to a Denial of Service attack if more and more memory is consumed.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Uvh squid.rpm

After the package has been installed, your squid needs to be
restarted:


rcsquid restart
