Abstract
NetWare Distributed Print Services (NDPS) reduces the cost associated with managing network printing resources. Attendees will receive a general introduction to the layout of the NDPS Library. Participants will write code to query NDPS Printer status, query jobs on an NDPS Printer, and control jobs on an NDPS Printer. An understanding of the C programming language is recommended.

Abstract
This session will focus on the new ConsoleOne interface and APIs to add functionality to ConsoleOne. Attendee should be familiar with Java for the greatest benefit in this class. ConsoleOne is the interface that will eventually replace NWADMIN. This interface makes adding snap-in functionality much easier that it has been in the past.
Detailed Description
The .ZIP file in this TID contains files found in sub-directories as well as .JAVA and .CLASS files. It should be unzipped in the sub-directory where you want the files to reside in order to preserve the directory structure needed to execute these files.

NWDSSearch Losing 16-bytes per Iteration

Abstract
When using the Cross-Platform Libraries from the LIBUPG.EXE time frame and later (approx. November 1997) releases, NWDSSearch will lose 16-bytes per iteration on the NLM Platform.
Detailed Description
Using the Novell NLM development platform with the Cross-Platform Libraries from the LIBUPG.EXE time frame and later (approx. November 1997) releases, NWDSSearch will lose 16-bytes per iteration on the NLM Platform. This will manifest itself when your NLM is unloaded as unreleased resources (Module did not release xx resources).
In one scenario, this problem has been reproduced by doing the following, using either NWDSSearchor NWDSExtSyncSearch:
The container where the search is done has four (4) user objects.
The search is done at least twice (losing 16 bytes per time).
The search is followed by NWDSCanonicalizeNameand NWDSReadObjectInfocalls.
A larger buffer must be used (2K to 4K will work), since use of a smaller buffer, which forces many iterations, memory is not lost.
Note: Your methods of reproducing this problem may vary. This problem has been fixed but will not be available until the release of LIBUPH.EXE, Support Pack 6, and SDK Release 16.
Note: The recently released LIBUPG.EXE and Support Pack 5 DO NOT contain the fix.
Note: Despite the Module did not release xx resources message, the NetWare OS really recovers the unreleased resources and the server will continue to run normally.

Abstract:
This session includes demonstrations plus hands-on lab with the tools and techniques required to be Novell Yes certified. Novell developed the Yes certification and trademarking program to help customers easily identify and purchase third-party hardware and software products that are compatible with the Novell product line. The Yes logo is a valuable trademark of Novell, recognized around the world. There are a number of tools that have been produced to assist the developer in the certification process, such as the Protocol test suite, the Print Signature Tool, and others which we will use to examine network suitability.

Abstract
Novell Licensing Services (NLS) provides a flexible approach to licensing in the NetWare environment. Since policy behavior is contained in the license, only one executable image is necessary. This hands-on session will give programming experience enabling an application using the industry standard LSAPI calls. This session will also briefly discuss the architecture, the differences between application and management APIs, and the differences between a meter and secure license.

The discussion will include an overview of SNMP, the Management MIB, and the SMILE interfaces. Knowlege of C and some NLM programming concepts are helpful, but the discussion should include broader level concepts as well.

Abstract
Do you have a great idea that would work well with GroupWise? Or do you have an application that would really make the GroupWise client sing? Well, here is your chance to learn how to integrate your application into the GroupWise client seamlessly. This class will focus on how to build your own C3PO to put custom menus, buttons, and your own custom message types into the GroupWise client. We will build a C3PO using the C3PO wizard to do all of the above and more. We will create code for use in Visual Basic. If you attend this class, you will walk away with a sample application that you can use or modify for your own purposes.
