Novell recently announced the open beta of the BorderManager Authentication Services 3 Enhancement Pack. The Enhancement Pack further extends the value of BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3 and BorderManager Authentication Services 3, two Internet security management solutions from Novell for businesses that leverage the power of Novell Directory Services (NDS). This open beta is freely available for download from Novell's Web site.
What
The BorderManager Authentication Services 3 Enhancement Pack open beta includes these new features:
Tight integration of ActivCard tokens and smart card authentication into NDS, improving security of remote access and providing a single point of administration to lower total cost of ownership
Interoperability with Security Dynamics ACE/Server using the RADIUS protocol allowing administrators to manage users within NDS while leveraging existing investment in ACE/Server
Significantly enhanced proxy configuration options, ability to proxy accounting data, new features to optimize performance in WAN environments
Concurrent login restrictions which enables administrators to limit the number of connections a user may have open at one time
User login and connection history based on RADIUS accounting
