DeveloperNet Signs Up 1,000th Subscriber
On January 15, Novell announced that DeveloperNet, its comprehensive developer relations subscription program launched in September 1995, has rapidly gained momentum and reached a significant milestone with its 1,000th subscription. Novell formed DeveloperNet in concert with its renewed focus on network software and strategic vision to provide developers with open access to a robust set of network services. The subscription program now serves as Novell's primary communications channel to deliver information, tools, and help to the software development community.
The 1,000th DeveloperNet subscription went to Jeffrey Biesecker, President of JEB Technology, a software developer based in York, Pennsylvania specializing in developing network applications for education and non profit organizations.
"Through DeveloperNet, we receive current products and timely information and support about Novell's technology," said Biesecker. "We are currently looking at developing interactive Web applications to open databases to the Internet, and we want to use Novell technology such as NetWare Web Server due to Novell's enhanced security features. Our DeveloperNet subscription is the best vehicle to develop network applications for technology such as this. Novell is clearly committed to creating opportunities for their developers to succeed."
Gary Mueller, Novell"s vice president of corporate developer relations, added that this is an important milestone for Novell. "We launched DeveloperNet in late September 1995 with the intention of building the premier developer relations program in the industry. DeveloperNet offers software developers all of the tools, information, and help they need to create applications leveraging the most comprehensive and powerful set of network services available. Receiving our 1,000th subscription so quickly after the introduction of DeveloperNet reinforces the fact that we're meeting developers' needs."
DeveloperNet members and other developers will gather at Novell in Utah on March 18 22, 1996 for BrainShare '96, Novell's technical conference for networking professionals.
