Electronic Service Request Browser Compatibility

As of Monday, March 15, 2004 electronic support including submission of service requests is being delivered by means of Siebel eService. This will provide the following improvements:

  • Quicker Service Request (incident) creation
  • The ability to see and update all Service Requests for your company
  • Simplified navigation throughout Novell's self service site
  • Improved administration with a single PIN (for customers with multiple agreements)
  • Ability to attach files and documents to a Service Request

This new system presents some limitations on the Internet browsers it will support. Currently, eService will support:

Opera 7 does not work in it's installation state, however if users click into File/Preferences and click the Network panel and set the Browser Identification to "Identify as Mozilla 5.0" instead of "Identify as MSIE 6.0" it will work.

We are committed to the support of Linux and open source browsers and we will continue to press for more open support by our vendors and partners.
