Troubleshooting Client Installation Issues

Issue:

There are three primary causes for an agent installation to not complete.

  1. The user does not have Administrator rights.
  2. The Cenergy Installer application is not able to contact the Primary Command Server.
  3. The installer is not able to contact the Relay Server for download.

Resolution:

  1. Verify that the person installing Cenergy is logged into the computer using an account that has full administrative privileges.
  2. From the Cenergy Console, verify that the Command Server is enabled.
  3. Look in the \Cenergy\Active\ folder and verify that there is a filed called "setup.dat".
  4. Verify that the Relay Server connection information in the console is resolvable by the PC. If your server has multiple network cards on different subnets, you may have to modify the Relay Rules in order for the PCs to connect to download.
  5. If you are using an Authenticating Proxy Server, configure Internet Explorer to bypass local sites and register the Command Server as an exception.
