1.0        CD Readme

1.1        Future Updates for Specific Support Packs
Novell will not produce another Support Pack for NetWare 5.0. The NetWare 5.0 Support Pack 6 was the last Support Pack for NetWare 5.0, and it is available for download at http://support.novell.com/csp.
Novell will not produce another Support Pack for ManageWise 2.7. The ManageWise 2.7 Support Pack 1 was the last Support Pack for ManageWise 2.7, and it is available for download at http://support.novell.com/csp.

1.2        WebSphere 3.5.1 and JVM 1.2.2
The following information supersedes the information provided in README.TXT on the Support Pack CDs.
If you have WebSphere 3.5.1 installed on your server and you then install JVM 1.2.2, you might experience some CORBA errors.
To correct this issue, copy the files IBMJBNW.JAR and ADMIN.JAR from \was351\fixes\lib\ to <WebSphere volume>:\WEBSPHERE\APPSERVER\LIB on your server. This can be done either before or after installing JVM 1.2.2.
The files are available on the Consolidated Support Pack CDs or you can download WebSphere 3.5.1. For more information on downloading WebSphere, see TID 2959217.

1.3        WebSphere Update
The following information supersedes the information provided in README.TXT on the Support Pack CDs.
Consolidated Support Pack 6 CDs include WebSphere 3.5.1. A newer version, WebSphere 3.5.3, is available. To download this version, go to http://www.novell.com/products/websphere and click the FixPack link.

1.4        Using OnDemand with JVM 1.2.2
The following information supersedes the information provided in README.TXT on the Support Pack CDs.
To run OnDemand v1.5 with JVM 1.2.2, you need to manually edit  SYS:/SYSTEM/USAGESERVER.NCF and make the following changes:
# Load Java and the CORBA OSAgent
load java
load osagent

# Set the classpath for UsageServer
envset USAGECLASSPATH=\java\lib\vbjapp.jar;\java\lib\vbjorb.jar;
\java\lib\vbjtools.jar
envset USAGECLASSPATH=$USAGECLASSPATH;\java\lib\rt.jar;
\java\lib\i18n.jar
envset USAGECLASSPATH=$USAGECLASSPATH;\java\njclv2\lib\jndi.jar;
\java\njclv2\lib\njclv2.jar
envset USAGECLASSPATH=$USAGECLASSPATH;\OnDemand\Webapp\lib\CommerceAPI.jar;
\OnDemand\Webapp\lib\CommerceUsage.jar

# Launch the UsageServer
java -ns -mp0 -Xbootclasspath:$USAGECLASSPATH UsageServer

1.5        Patch for GUI Product Installs with JVM 1.2.2
N51_NIS1.EXE, located at the root of CD 3, is a patch to fix issues regarding product installs using the GUI JAVA Console.
To apply the patch after installing JVM 1.2.2, copy N51_NIS1.EXE to the root of your server·s SYS: volume and run the file. This will extract the files to their correct locations.
This patch must be applied before installing WebSphere.

1.6        Oracle and JVM 1.2.2
Oracle version 8.1.5 will not install on a server that has JVM 1.2.2 installed. To work around this, install JVM 1.1.7 and then install Oracle. If you need JVM 1.2.2, install JVM 1.2.2 after installing Oracle.
Oracle version 8.1.6 will install on a server that has the JVM 1.2.2 installed; however, Oracle will not uninstall.

1.7        Using GroupWise Monitor with JVM 1.2.2
GroupWise Monitor requires JVM 1.1.7b or earlier and will not work with JVM 1.2.2.

1.8        Running RCONJ with JVM 1.2.2
If JVM 1.2.2 is running on the server, RCONJ.EXE will not load on the server. You will have to run RCONJ.EXE on a workstation from SYS:\PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2.

1.9        JVM 1.2.2 and NetWare for Small/Growing Business
If you are running the GroupWise pop forwarding agent (PFA) on the server, it will not load after installing the optional JVM 1.2.2.  Do not install JVM 1.2.2 on NetWare for Small/Growing Business Suite 5 servers that are running GroupWise.

1.10         JVM 1.2.2 Updated
JVM 1.2.2 included in the Support Pack has been updated since its initial release. The updated JVM is included on the Consolidated Support Pack CDs or can be downloaded from http://www.novell.com/download.

1.11 VM 1.2.2 Installed prior to installing NW51SP3
If your server is running JVM 1.2.2. Prior to installing NW51SP3, please issue the following commands at the console prompt:

"java -killall"
"java -exit"

Then begin the NW51SP3 installation.

Failure to perform the above listed steps prior to installing the NW51SP3 may cause your server to abend in Threads.nlm.

2.0        NetWare 5.1

2.1        Using RCONSLE to Install the Support Pack
When using RCONSOLE to install the Support Pack, the F4 option does not apply.

2.2        Using WebDav and WebPublishing
WebDav and WebPublishing cannot be run simultaneously on a server.

2.3        RCONJ and ConsoleOne
In this Support Pack you cannot run RCONJ from within ConsoleOne. Instead, you will have to run it from the network at  SYS:\PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2\RCONJ.EXE.

2.4        Updates for ARCserv
The following fixes are provided by Computer Associates for ARCserv. You should apply the appropriate patches to avoid abending the server.
-        To fix an abend in NET-ARCSERVE.NLM when using ARCserveIT Enterprise NW, release 6.6, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnw/LO94073.html.
-        ARCserve Enterprise NW, release 7.0: To fix an ABEND in NET-ARCSERVE.NLM, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asnw7/LO94074.html.
-        ARCserveIT Enterprise Edition, release 6.61: To fix an ABEND when NWAGENT loads, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnt/LO94082.html.
-        ARCserveIT AE/WG Edition, release 6.61: To fix an ABEND when NWAGENT loads, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnt/LO94083.html.
-        ARCserveIT ASO Edition, release 6.61: To fix an ABEND when NWAGENT loads, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnt/LO94085.html.
-        ARCserveIT Enterprise NW, release 7.0: see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asnw7/LO94086.html.
-        ARCserveIT Enterprise NW, release 6.6: To fix an ABEND when NWAGENT loads, see http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnw/LO94088.html.

2.5        Accelerated Upgrade Not Supported
The Support Pack does not support running the Accelerated Upgrade (ACCUPG.EXE) with an overlay CD directly from a workstation using the GUI. To run the Accelerated Upgrade with an overlay CD, complete the following steps:
1)         From a workstation, start an Rconsole session with the server.
2)         Load NWCONFIG.NLM.
3)         Select Product Options > Install a Product Not Listed.
4)         You will need to point to the \INSTALL directory in the overlay CD. For example, if the overlay was in \NW51CD directory on SYS:, then the path would be SYS:\NW51CD\INSTALL.
5)         Follow the onscreen prompts.

2.6        Using CPQSCSI.HAM
After updating to Compaq's latest Support Software for Novell products (NSSD), the NDS Database may not open. To resolve this, you need to manually load NDS by adding a LOAD DS statement to the server's AUTOEXEC.NCF.

2.7        Launching WebSphere
If you launch WebSphere from the Java GUI and WebSphere does not run, you will need to edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF and remove the # symbol from the beginning of the Start Websphere command. Then reboot the server, and you can launch WebSphere from the GUI.

2.8        BorderManager VPN
If you install BorderManager (or any Novell product) after installing this Support Pack, you need to re-install the Support Pack. Otherwise the VPN may not function. The Support Pack reads what products are installed and automatically installs the correct files needed for those products. That is why it is necessary to reinstall after adding a new product.

2.9        ConsoleOne 1.2d with International Languages
If you are running ConsoleOne 1.2d.1 from the server with JVM 1.2.2, some options may display random ASCII characters. Instead, you should run ConsoleOne from a client. This only effects Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional, Japanese, and Russian.

2.10        Using RCONJ and RCONSOLE.EXE Over IPX
To use RCONJ or RCONSOLE over IPX after installing the Support Pack, you must load SPXS.NLM before you load RCONAG6.NLM in AUTOEXEC.NCF.  If SPXS.NLM is not loaded, RCONAG6.NLM may fail to load and generate the following error: NSPX did not initialize.

2.11        ADSync Issue
After installing ADSync while using ConsoleOne, you may not be able to browse NDS using the tree. To resolve this, ensure that the workstation running ConsoleOne has a primary Novell Client connection to a server running NDS 8.5.

2.12        Novell Client Updates
For more information about updates to the Novell Client, see TID 10062546.

2.13        Updated CE100B.LAN Driver Available
An updated CE100B.LAN driver has been included in the \TOOLS directory of the Support Pack. If you experience issues as explained in Section 3.1, Issues with CE100B.LAN Driver of the NetWare 5.1 Support Pack Readme, you should use this driver.

2.14        Installing ZEN for Servers 2 Support Pack
If the NetWare 5.1 Support Pack is not installed, you should install the ZEN for Servers 2 Support Pack using either an automatic TED distribution or a manual install before installing the NetWare 5.1 Support Pack. Otherwise, if the NetWare Support Pack is already installed, you must do an automatic TED distribution of the ZEN for Servers 2 Support Pack.

2.15        Backup Abends Server
When doing a backup, if the remote server abends, check to see that the job is set to auto-rescheduled, and select Target Service to create a new backup set. Then select the items to be backed up.

2.16        Using Novell Native File Access for MacIntosh
If you are running Novell Native File Access for MacIntosh (FPEP), the Mac client may randomly lose your connection to the server. A solution is currently under development.

2.17        DirXML
If you have issues with DirXML working correctly, see TID 10060049 at http://support.novell.com/search/kb_index.jsp.

2.18        Issue with NCMCON
If the server abends in NCMCON while installing NSSD from Compaq in all languages except English and Japanese, you should copy the English NCMCON.MSG from SYS:\SYSTEM\NLS\4 to the language directory. For example if you are using Spanish, copy the file to SYS:\SYSTEM\NLS\14.

2.19        IDE Drives
Many IDE drives do not adhere to the industry standard for IDE. If you experience issues with your IDE drive after installing the Support Pack, you may need to use the IDE driver that you were using before installing the Support Pack. The IDE drivers are automatically backed up to C:\NWSERVER\BACKSP3\STORAGE. To use the earlier driver, copy the file from the backup directory to C:\NWSERVER.

2.20        DSREPAIR.NLM with eDirectory 85.xx
If your server is running eDirectory 85.xx, then you will need to copy the file DSREPAIR.NLM from the \TOOLS directory into the server's SYS:\SYSTEM. Failure to do so will result in DSREPAIR -634 errors in the log file and a full unattended backup may not complete on an IP only network. This file does not apply to NDS 8.7x or 7.x.

3.0        Novell Cluster Services

3.1        Updated NCSPROXY.NLM
If you receive the errors listed below, you will need to update NCSPROXY.NLM, located in the Support Pack's NI/TEMP directory. To install the updated file, copy the contents of the Novell Cluster Services (NWCS) CD to the workstation hard drive and replace NCSPROXY.NLM in NI\TEMP and re-run the install of NetWare Cluster Services. For more information, see TID 29590778.
Error: "The server you have chosen doesn't have an IP address."
Error: "Configure IP or choose a different server. Re-start install."

3.2        CVSBIND
If you are using the CVSBIND.NLM for bindery connections, you should unload the CVSBIND.NLM manually before downing the server; otherwise, the server will abend.

3.3        Trustee Changes
When making trustee changes, ensure that the NDS replicas are synchronized and that the shared volumes are online the changes are occurring.
