Novell eDirectory 8.6 for All Platforms
Performing a tree merge.
eDirectory 8.6.2 is the source and eDirectory 8.7 is the target
symptom
Schema on source and target servers are not the same.
cause
The import schema does not change flags. The flag definitions are different on the 8.6.2 tree and the 8.7 tree.
fix
There are two solutions to this problem.
1. Upgrade the 8.6.2 server to eDirectory 8.7
2. Use the dsmerge from eDirectory 8.7 on the 8.6.2 server. This option does work but is not fully tested. Make sure backups of the eDirectory is taken before using this option.
Novell is investigating options on how to remedy this issue with the 8.6.2 dsmerge utility.
