symptom

Error: "Could not find native libraries" during iManager 1.5 login

iManager login screen displays with no problems

After login, "System Error.  Could not find native libraries for com.novell.emframe.NDSNamespaceAuthenticator" is displayed.

Log file at \tomcat\webapps\eMFrame\WEB-INFLogs displays "unsuccessful login attemt"

Other applications using Tomcat (i.e eGuide 2.1) work just fine

Not getting any JVM_BIND errors within Tomcat

cause

JCLIENT.DLL is not in the search path on the Windows 2000 Server. The iManager installation doesn't check for the exisitence of the file.

fix

Get a copy of JCLIENT.DLL from the latest Novell Client32 distribution and put the file somewhere in your path (<WINDIR>SYSTEM32 should work fine) or just make sure that the path where the file exists is specified in the search path settings.
