fact

Novell NetWare 6.0

symptom

Install hangs when launching the Java GUI.

cause

Conflict with second IDE port.

fix

Restart the install.  When selecting drivers, it will show two instances of IDEATA, one for each IDE port on the motherboard.  Delete the second instance of IDEATA.  Continue with the installation.

NOTE:  I have only see this issue on Hewlitt-Packard and home-built servers.
