Novell eDirectory 8.6.1 for Solaris

symptom

eDirectory 8.6.1 ndsd hangs during installing after typing ndsconfig new.

eDirectory 8.6.1 ndsd hangs during an upgrade after typing ndsconfig upgrade.

eDirectory 8.6.1 was running fine, and then ndsd hangs after applying the latest Solaris 8 cluster.

ndsstat hangs after applying the latest Solaris 8 cluster.

Applied the latest Solaris 8 cluster to the server.

cause

Patch 111177-06 affects Solaris threading which causes ndsd to hang.

fact

/etc/init.d/ndsd

fix

This issue has been resolved with the lastest Sun cluster. Apply Sun's latest cluster that includes 108827-17 or higher.
