goal

What is RCONPRXY.NLM in NetWare 5 ?

fact

Formerly TID 2942078

Novell NetWare 5.0

fix

RCONPRXY.NLM loaded on the server creates a RConsoleJ proxy server on a NetWare 5 server. RConsoleJ proxy servers allow RConsoleJ to access target servers using an IPX or IP connection.

Syntax:
[LOAD] RCONPRXY TCP_Port

The default TCP_Port is 2035. A value of 0 allows a dynamically assigned port to be used.

To allow RConsoleJ to communicate with an IPX-only NetWare 5 server. RCONPRXY creates a proxy server through which RConsoleJ can communicate with the IPX-only server.

The proxy server must run both IP and Stream-based SPX services.

RConsoleJ can be run from SYS:PUBLIC\MGMT\RCONJ.BAT.

In the RConsoleJ, The Advanced button will give you the option to connect through a proxy.

For more information on using RCONAG6.NLM, you can refer to How to RCONSOLE to a NW5 server in Pure IP.
