Reinstalling the Novell Enterprise Web Server on NetWare 6

fix

1.  From the server console down the enterprise web server by typing NSWEBDN.
2.Load STARTX , go into the graphic interface on the server and select NOVELL | INSTALL.  When presented with the list of currently installed products find the NetWare Enterprise Web Server in the list and select REMOVE.
3. Once the product is uninstalled go to SYS:/NOVONYX/SUITESPOT directory and rename the HTTPS-WEBSERVER directory.  It is not necessary to rename the SYS:\NOVONYX\SUITESPOT\DOCS directory with NetWare 6.  The uninstall and reinstall will not alter the content that is present in this directory.
4.  Mount the NetWare 6 CD as a volume on the server and go back into the graphic interface (STARTX) to NOVELL | INSTALL and this time select to add a product.  Point to the root of the CD and select NEXT.  
5.  When presented with the components list for products to install first select the CLEAR ALL button.  Next, find the NetWare Enterprise Web Server and check.  When prompted login as the administrator of the tree.
6.  The Port Resolver will display next to select whether to install using a single IP address or multiple IP addresses.   Make the appropriate selection.
7.  The LDAP Configuration screen will display next, leave everything at default and select NEXT.
8.  The final window is the PRODUCTS TO BE INSTALLED which should show the NetWare Enterprise Server and the Port Resolver.  Select FINISH.
9.  If prompted to overwrite LDAP with older Files select NO.  This will happen if you have installed the latest support pack to the server.
10. Once the installation is complete, remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive and at the server console type RESET SERVER (which will re-boot the server, make sure the command typed is RESET SERVER, not RESTART SERVER).
11.  Once the server comes back up, test the web server by accessing the IP address or DNS in a browser (i.e. http://ipaddress).
