symptom

Error:  "Error 500 java.lang.OutOfMemoryError"

NetStorage will not display directories with large amounts of data.

cause

This has been seen with customer's who are mapping to directories with 1000+ entries or large amounts of data.  The cause is unknown.

change

Increasing the java heap size from  to 256 as a minimum to 384 as the maximum allowed which will eliminate the error message and allow users to receive the data from the mapping.  However, it still takes the browser approximately 5-10 minutes to render the data for presentation.

fix

This has been submitted to engineering as a defect.  Currently there is no workaround.
