Novell NetWare 6.0

symptom

NetWare 6 install hangs.

cause

Driver incompatbility.  When you boot off of the NetWare CD, it uses generic CDROM drivers.  These drivers often do not operate the hardware as well as the specific ones written for the hardware.

fix

Use either a boot disk with the specific CDROM drivers for your hardware, or insert the drivers in the CONFIG.SYS file on the root of the DOS partition. Start the NetWare installation by loading INSTALL.BAT on the root of the NetWare 6 CD.
