Error while launching ConsoleOne on the server's Java GUI.

ERROR: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/novell/gw/util/Resource

change

Groupwise snapins installed to SYS:PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2 directory.

cause

The GroupWise snapins were not designed to be run on the server's Java GUI.

fix

To Correct this issue do the following:
1. If possible go into ConsoleOne and check to see which snapins you have installed by going to HELP | About Snapins...
2.  Delete the SYS:PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2 directory and everything below it.
3.  Download the latest version of ConsoleOne from download.novell.com.
4.  Install ConsoleOne to SYS:PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2.
5. Go to http://download.novell.com and download then reapply the snapins for ConsoleOne for NetWare that you had installed before deleting the ConsoleOne directory.

Note: To determine which snapins you may need simply browse your tree and see which objects appear as question marks.

You should now be able to run ConsoleOne on the server's Java GUI.

To use the GroupWise snapins, install  ConsoleOne to another directory on the server, or to you local workstation.  Then install the GroupWise snapins to the alternate ConsoleOne location.
