Novell NetWare 6.0

symptom

LSL fatal error during NetWare 6 install

CPUCHECK.NLM unable to load.

Server hardware is non "Yes, Tested and Approved"

cause

Incompatibility between the generic CDROM used by the NetWare 6 CD and the CDROM hardware.

fix

Instead of booting up on the bootable NetWare 6 CD, configure the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to use DOS CDROM drivers designed for the CDROM drive.  Start the NetWare install by booting to DOS, switching to the CDROM drive mapping, and run "INSTALL" at the DOS prompt.
