Abend: CPU Hog Detected by Timer caused by MCSCAN32.NLM

Abend on P00: SERVER-5.60-1937: CPU Hog Detected by Timer
   OS version: Novell NetWare 5.60  September 13, 2001

   Running Process: NETSHLD SCScan003 Process

cause

Server is a Abending because MCSCAN32.NLM does not relinquish control of the Processor.

fix

Customer removed virus scan software and was waiting for a fix from Network Associates.

Other option is to disable scan of outgoing files and do a scheduled scan when the backups are not running.
