symptom

Unable to add new NW6 nodes to an existing cluster.

Error: The NCS clustering software must be upgraded before additional nodes can be added.

change

Upgraded the cluster from NW5.1 SP3 and NCS1.01 CS1SP2 to NW6 and NCS1.6.

cause

The product.dat file wasn't getting updated to the latest NWCS version during the upgrade.

fix

This has been fixed in NW6SP1.  This will be released at a future date.  In the mean time, there is a workaround.  Download and apply CS16ADD.EXE to all servers in the existing cluster.  This will add the appropriate entries to the Products.dat file and allow additional nodes to be added to the cluster.
