symptom

Fatal error occurs when performing an inplace upgrade to Novell NetWare 6.0

Error: "A fatal error has occurred.  This program will terminate.  You may check
SYS:\ni\data\nilog for more details after you dismiss this dialogue. InstallDSProducts"

During the setup process  at the gui interface, exception error in java occurs

Upgrading existing NetWare is erroring out at load sys

cause

"Do not overwrite newer files" was chosen during the upgrade.

fix

Perform the Inplace upgrade again, choosing to copy over all newer files.
