fact
Novell NetWare 6.0
Server Abends
Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.5187
goal
Kernel detected unmatched call to EndSleepNotAllowed.
symptom
Error: Abend 1 on P00: Server-5.60a-6592: Kernel detected unmatched call to EndSleepNotAllowed.
Server abends when accessing through NetWare Remote Manager when NAV is loaded.
Server abends when trying to access the disk utilities in ConsoleOne when NAV is loaded.
change
Upgraded to NetWare 6.
fix
Preliminary analysis indicates that RTVSCAN.NLM calls EndSleepNotAllowed without checking to see if the SleepNotAllowedUseCount is greater than zero. The SleepNotAllowedUseCount must be greater than 0 when EndSleepNotAllowed is called. If it is 0, then this is a mismatched call and the server will abend.
Note: Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.X is not supported on NetWare 6. Edition 8 will be supported when it is released.
See Symantec for more information.
