symptom
Server hangs on Scanning for devices and partitions when rebooting after an install of NetWare 6.
Server hangs during the install of the OS waiting to Initialize CCS.
fix
The tape drive was attached to an Adaptec controller using the AHA2940.HAM driver. There is an issue with the AHA2940.HAM driver that ships with NW6. You need to obtain the driver dated October 24, 2001 version 8.20m or later.
This issue has also been seen with the ADPT160M.HAM. The latest one from Adaptec will also resolve this issue.
