symptom

Accelerated Upgrade utility gives "Unable to Proceed" error message.

Error message, "The NetWare Accelerated Upgrade is unable to communicate with the target server, possibly due to network problems.  Click Back and try again."

Console prompt on NetWare 5.0 server shows public symbol errors when trying to load INSTPROX.NLM.

cause

INSTPROX.NLM is not loading because of the public symbol error.  This module is needs to be loaded for the Accelerated Upgrade to continue.

fix

Download INSTP5X.EXE - TID# 2957421 Replace the INSTPROX.NLM in SYS:SYSTEM with the one from the extracted patch.
