fact

Novell NetWare 5.x

Novell NetWare 4.x

symptom

Can't remove mixed case or lower case entries from the products.dat file.

Wrote customized script to add entry into the products.dat file.

All uppercase entries can be deleted using UINSTALL.

cause

Example of custom script:

  ProductRecord "NetShld", 0, "4.1.1"
  ProductRecord "NetShld", 1, "NetShield Antivirus"

This entry can not be removed from the products.dat file using "load uinstall NetShld".

fix

If you use UINSTALL.NLM dated on or after 3-11-2000, you can use a -c command line parameter to indicate it is case sensitive.

Example:  Load UINSTALL -c NetShld
