fix

1.1        Accessing ConsoleOne Help

When you click the Help Icon, you may get the following error:
"Help Set: Novell_SharedHelp not found in class
path." Instead, select Contents from the Help menu.

For more information on using ConsoleOne, see the
ConsoleOne documentation at
http://www.novell.com/documentation/lg/consol12c/doc
ui/index.html.

1.2        Install Stops on SETUPNLS.NLM

During the Support Pack installation, if the wrong user name
or password was entered, the installation may stop when
SETUPNLS.NLM is loaded. To correct this, switch to the server
console screen and enter UNLOAD SETUPNLS.NLM. The installation
will then proceed normally.

After the installation and the server is restarted, complete
the following:

1)        At the console prompt, type SETUPNLS.NLM.

2)        Enter the correct username and password. The NDS schema
will then be extended properly.

If LDAP is installed on this server, complete the following:

1)        At the console prompt, load NLDAPI.NLM.

2)        Enter the correct username and password. The NDS schema
will then be extended properly.
1.3        Time Drift Issue with IDEATA Storage Drivers

If your server is experience time drifting and your server
uses IDE storage devices, you can install the newer IDEATA.HAM
drivers available in the \TOOLS directory.

Copy the IDEATA.HAM file to the SYS:SYSTEM directory.  When
you load the driver, use the following command:

LOAD IDEATA.HAM /NODMA

If you do not use the \NODMA switch, the following may happen:

-        If you are using NSS volumes, the volumes may not appear.

-        The IDEATA.HAM parameter window may appear. Press Esc to
continue.
1.4        ConsoleOne Running on a Workstation

After installing the new Support Pack, if you experience
problems with ConsoleOne running on a workstation, you should
reinstall ConsoleOne on that workstation.
1.5        ConsoleOne Files Not Deleted Error
If you receive an error during the Backup portion of the
Support Pack Installation, and the SYS:\SYSTEM\SPACKLOG.TXT
states that some of the ConsoleOne files could not be deleted,
you should ignore the error. The files were deleted.
1.6        New Screens for Enterprise Web Server

After installing the Support Pack, the Enterprise Web Server
is serviceable by two new server screens, one for the Web
Manager and the other for the NetWare Enterprise Web Server.
To shut down and exit from the Web Manager or Web Server
screens using the menus, you must copy the WEBRSTRT.NLM from
the Support Pack's \TOOLS directory to the SYS:\SYSTEM
directory.

The NSWEB and NSWEBDN console commands will still function
properly in any case.
1.7        Volumes Will Not Mount after Installing the Support
Pack

On some Compaq systems, your volumes may not mount after
installing the Support Pack. Complete one of the options below
to resolve this issue.

Use the Compaq drivers that existed on the server before you
install the Support Pack.

Or

Copy all of the SCSIHD.* files from C:\NWSERVER\DRIVERS to
C:\NWSERVER.  Make sure that any necessary Compaq drivers are
present in the STARTUP.NCF file, such as CPQSHD.CDM,
CPQARRAY.HAM, CPQSCSI, etc.
1.8        Unload DOSFAT.NSS Before Installing the Support Pack

Before installing the Support Pack, unload the DOSFAT.NSS file
if it is loaded on the server. This file is not auto-loaded,
so it would have been manually loaded.
1.9        Upgrading to NetWare 5.1 After an Updated Directory
Services Is Installed

When upgrading a NetWare 5.0 server to NetWare 5.1, NDS may
not load. This occurs when DS.NLM v7.49 up to v7.99 or
DS.NLM v8.72 or higher is installed on the server prior to
upgrading to NetWare 5.1.

To resolve this, complete the following the steps for the
version of NDS installed.

NDS 7

1)        Follow the instructions included with NetWare 5.1 to
upgrade from NetWare 5.0.

2)        After the upgrade is complete, immediately apply NetWare
5.1 Support Pack 2 and reboot the server.

NDS 8

1)        Following the instructions included with NetWare 5.1, begin
the upgrade from NetWare 5.0 to NetWare 5.1.

During the upgrade and after the server reboots for the
first time, the user interface will not load. There are no
error messages, and the server will leave you at the
console colon prompt.

2)        Copy the file DSLOADER.NLM from
NW50SP6\PRODUCTS\NDS8\STARTUP to C:\NWUPDATES.

3)        Copy all the files and directories from
NW50SP6\PRODUCTS\NDS8\SYS\SYSTEM to C:\NWUPDATES\SYS.

4)        Then reboot the machine.

The upgrade will continue normally

The correct NDS files will automatically be installed
during the upgrade.

While not required, we suggest that you install NetWare 5.1
Support Pack 2 on the server.
1.10        NSS Feature Limitation

When using NSS volumes, you cannot enable the Directory Quotas
and the File Copy on Write features simultaneously. You must
choose one or the other.
1.11        Error When Using NDPS Xerox and Lexmark Printers in
Some Languages

If you have servers running Chinese Simplified, Chinese
Traditional, and Russian you may receive an error when using
NetWare Administrator to configure NDPS for both Xerox and
Lexmark printers. The error refers to the XWIZ3.HLP and
LEXPDRES.DLL files.

To resolve this error, copy the XWIZ3.HLP and LEXPDRES.DLL
files from SYS:\PUBLIC\WIN32\NLS\ENGLISH\ to the appropriate
language directory.  For Russian, the path is
SYS:\PUBLIC\WIN32\NLS\RUSSKI

Third-party updates to NDPS are available at
http://developer.novell.com/devres/nest/index.htm. From the
Novell Solution Search heading, select NDPS Third Party
Gateways, Downloads, Solutions & Links.
1.12        Backup Issues and NWASPI.CDM :

When using ARCserveIT 6.6 with this Support Pack, we strongly
recommend that you use CANWPA.CDM instead of NWASPI.CDM. See
the ARCserve Service Pack readme for details on how to use
CANWPA.CDM.

1.13        Unload DSCAT.NLM Before Installing the Support Pack

DSCAT.NLM will cause errors during the install if it is
running during the Support Pack installation. Ensure that
DSCAT.NLM is unloaded before starting the patch install.

1.14        Readme Changes
Section 2.7 was left blank intentionally.

1.15        NetWare Cluster Services and Storage Area Network
Documentation
For information about running NetWare Cluster Services in a
Storage Area Network, see TID 10057924.

1.16        Reinstall ConsoleOne on eDirectory 8.5 Servers
Applying the Support Pack on a server running eDirectory 8.5
will cause ConsoleOne to be downgraded to an older version.
This may cause a loss of snapin functionality. To correct
this, complete the following:

1)        Run the eDirectory 8.5 installation on a Windows NT or
Windows 2000 machine.

2)        Select Install ConsoleOne.

3)        Set the installation path to
SYS:\PUBLIC\MGMT\CONSOLEONE\1.2 on the server with the
newly installed Support Pack.

This will restore ConsoleOne to the correct version for
eDirectory 8.5.

1.17        Files in the TOOLS Directory

1.17.1        IPX.NLM

Printouts may become corrupt if a printer is connected to a
workstation and shared via a NetWare queue using
NPRINTER.EXE. This can be resolved with IPX.NLM and
NPRINTER.EXE.

The IPX.NLM program runs with the latest version of Novell
Client 32 for DOS/Windows (v2.71). Copy IPX.NLM from
\TOOLS\NPRINTER to C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\IPX.NLM on the
workstation. The NPRINTER.EXE is automatically copied to
the server's SYS:PUBLIC directory.

1.17.2        TIMESYNC.NLM

If your server experiences time drifting, you can copy
TIMESYNC.NLM from \TOOLS to the server's SYS:SYSTEM\.

Do not use this file in environments using NTP with
configured secondary time sources.

1.17.3        WEBRSTRT.NLM

For information, see New Screens for Enterprise Web Server
above.
