cause
The Novell Client handled stream files differently on a WAN vs. a LAN.
fix
Fixed in the Novell Client 4.83 SP2 for Windows NT/2000/XP.

Fixed in the Novell Client 3.32 SP2 for Windows 95/98.

Fixed for ZENworks for Desktops 3.x and 4.x in the following Novell Client files:
For NT/W2K/XP running the 4.83 SP1 client, this is fixed in an updated NWFS.SYS dated 06Aug2002 or later.
In all cases, the registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetWareWorkstation\Parameters]
"Cache Stream Files"=dword:00000001 must be set for the fix to become active.
For 95/98 running the 3.32 SP1 client, this is fixed in an updated CLIENT32.NLM dated 16Aug2002 or later.
Also, the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Novell\System Config\NetWare DOS Requester\Cache Stream Files must be added, with the value set to "1."
