cause
It is not uncommon to have multiple CD-ROM towers connected to a NetWare File Server to provide a whole suite of information to users. However, the ASPICD and CDNASPI drivers only support 7 and 14 CDROMs respectively.
fix
For NW4.11 add following statement to STARTUP.NCF:
LOAD AIC7870 lun_enable=ff
LOAD ASPICD lun_enable=ff
LOAD CDROM
CD DEVICE LIST
For NW 5.X add following statement to STARTUP.NCF:
Load AHA2940.HAM slot=10003 lun_enable=ff
scan all luns
. (Note: this applies to the AHA-294X series; AHA-2940UW Pro; AHA-3940 series; AHA-2940U2W; AHA-3950U2; AIC-78XX; AIC7890/91/95/96/97. The AHA-2930U2 is NOT supported in NetWare.)
