GroupWise uninstall does not remove all settings from Windows registry

cause

GroupWise Cleaning Agent was designed by Novell Technical Support to help resolve issues where the GroupWise client was not completely removed from the workstation. This product was designed to be run in Windows 95/98 or Windows NT/2000.

The GroupWise uninstall has been improved with later version of the client. This utility will remove all remaining registry settings that have been created from GroupWise 5.0 through GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack SP1, including 5.5 SP3, as well as remove the installed program files. This program replaces the obsolete Novell Registry Editor program from Novell.

Download, install and run GWCA55.EXE (GroupWise Cleaning Agent).

Installation Instructions

Run the self-extracting file GWCA55.exe. It will extract the TID file and the SetupCA.exe file. This exe file is a win32 setup program. Run the SetupCA.exe program to install the GroupWise Cleaning Agent.

NOTE: You should always use the normal GroupWise client uninstall feature via the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove Programs feature. After running the client uninstall, you can use the GroupWise Cleaning Agent to cleanup remaining files and settings.

You can remove the files that have been installed by the different GroupWise client versions and other Novell released GroupWise add-ons.

You can remove all third-party GroupWise API application integrations by selecting the Third-party Windows registry settings check box. This will only remove the registry settings that tell GroupWise what programs to load.

The Writing Tool sections in the Windows registry are not removed as they may be shared with WordPerfect Shared Code enabled applications.
