  • In Managing Risk for Effective Access Governance, you can read about the business risks associated with providing users access to information resources. These risks include a broad array of potentially damaging events that are caused or enabled by inadequate governance. Such events range from relatively minor policy and compliance violations to disastrous business losses. Learn how to prevent those losses in this white paper.

  • In the Investigating Single Sign-on white paper, learn how enterprise single sign-on can be the ultimate solution for a growing number of login and password-management challenges. With single sign-on, users log in one time, and the computer then takes over to perform any subsequent logins automatically on behalf of the user. This can reduce or even eliminate the burden of remembering many different passwords, which can dramatically improve convenience for users, lower password-related helpdesk calls and strengthen security.

  • Domain Services for Windows Health Check Tool: This tool will check the status of the services that should be running and report the results.

  • Novell ZENworks Configuration Management Adaptive Agent Deployment Script Wizard: This wizard builds a script that can be used to successfully deploy the ZCM Adaptive Agent in most situations when a standard deployment would probably fail, minimizing visits to workstations.

  • Abend Log Summarizer: Gathers data from all abend.log files on NetWare servers in a given tree, and then renames the log files in a cycle as abend.1, abend.2, and so on, to keep the file size down. The program uses various Novell API calls to extract server and tree names, and requires a recent version of Novell Client 32 on the work ststation.

  • setoqua sh, Set Directory Quotas on Novell Storage Services with Open Enterprise Server for Linux: Set directory quotas for lots of directories. It uses the metamig utility and dynamically creates the needed xml file.

Phasing Out the Windows Based Folio Search

Novell is currently including two search functions as part of the Novell Professional Resource Suite: the Windows-based Folio Search and the multi-platform search. In the January 2010 release, the Windows-based Folio search will no longer be included. We suggest you install and run the multi-platform search now and get familiar with its features.
