NetWare Migration Wizard 8.0

symptom

Migration Wizard is asking for authentication to the destination tree which is no longer there

At step four of the Migration Wizard it is asking to authenticate to both servers and the source server is not available. You cannot proceed until you are authenticated to both servers as the migration wizard does not think step three is completed.

Migration Wizard fails in Step 4.

fix

On the workstation where the Migration Wizard is running its project, an Access database file is created.  In the .mdb file of the project there is a "Header" table.

In this table there is a column "Status". The value of this column needs to be changed from 2 to 8.

This will tell Migration Wizard to ask if you've completed the '3rd' step of the migration. Select 'Yes' on that dialog. Otherwize Migration Wizard will attempt to connect to both trees again, instead of just the tree of the newly migrated server (which would be the old tree).
