symptom

Error: -601 deleting NCP Server object with dsbrowse -a

fact

NDS 8.82

cause

Server could not be deleted and its entry could not be removed from replica rings with dsrepair -a. This is probably a bug with this old unsupported version of NDS.

fix

Upgrade to the latest version of NDS (8.85c) or eDirectory (8.7.3.7 at the time of this writing). Both will work on NetWare 5.1. ConsoleOne was able to delete the NCP Server object even though dsbrowse could not.
