Linux driver for built-in Intel 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller Rev 2.on the Gateway laptop does load automatically if a 10 mg hub is between the laptop and the segment jack.

The Linux driver for the Intel gigabit NIC on the desktop machines do load automatically.

fix

They do load and work on the Gateway laptop if done manually (TID 10070123  Instructions on how to add on a driver to the linux Kernel. ), with a 10 mg hub, or on another segment.  Feedback is welcome.
