D107 when GW Client Auto Archives.

D107 occurs during the auto-archive process.

Error: D107 Record Not Found.

Starting the GroupWise Client

GWCheck reports: Error 83- Item failed to archive

fix

As of January 23, 2004 the GroupWise 6.5 Engine (the engine is part of both the GW Client & Agents) contains the ability to track Failed Auto-Archive Messages.  GWCheck has also been enhanced to Log the Failed Auto-Archive messages.  (both the Agents and Client must be patched for the tracking to be enabled.)

When the GW Client starts and Auto-Archive begins if it encounters a D107 this is reported, but the archive continues and finishes.  The msg is internally flagged as attempted to archive, but Not archived.  If the next occurrence of auto archive encounters this same bad message it does Not report the D107 but increments the count for attempted archive.  However, since there can be and usually are Multiple Bad messages that are reporting D107 Errors it May Appear that the users Keep getting D107 errors.

Administrators may run GWCheck  Analyze/Fix Contents or Expire against a User.  GWCheck will Log the attempted to Archive messages.  The Administrator can then Help the User locate the Bad messages and the user can then Decide to delete the item or request the Administrator recover the message through Tape or GW Restore Area Management.

GWCheck will report  Error 83- Item failed to archive.  It will include the Subject, From, Date, First archive attempt, Number of Archive Attempts and the Error of the last attempted archive (see example below).  Administrators can search the GWCheck log for Error 83 and find the bad message information.

GW will not Decide to Delete a message for the user since it may be a very important item.  However, we are working with development for Safe and Effective possibilities to enhance the product to help remove these messages.
