symptom
Error: installing iKernel.exe: (0xa00).
Error occurs when attempting to install ZENworks Patch Management Server software to a Windows 2003 server.
cause
The install of PatchLink to a Windows 2003 server requires that no other software other than IIS and ASP .NET be installed on the server. In this instance, ZENworks for Desktops services were installed an running on the 2003 Server.
fix
Install PatchLink to a 2003 that ONLY has IIS and ASP .NET installed. No other software can be installed on the server where you intend to install PatchLink.
