FFFDFFEF missing trailer on restore

cause

This error refers to the marker that tells the tsa that it's at the end of the data in the buffer. So what happens is that extra bytes are added to the buffer causing the trailer to not be recognized. This could result in corrupted files on restore. No errors will appear on backup so bad data may be on the tape. This only happens when backing up 5.x  trad vol data that is compressed and restoring it to netware 6.5. You can also ncopy the data from the 5.1 box to the 6.5 box, backup the 6.5 box and still have the problem on restore. This results in files that cannot be opened after the restore.

fix

Workaround = decompress the 5.1 files on the trad vols first and then back them up or ncopy them to the 6.5 box.

This is fixed in the latest Target Service Agents, at this writing they are in TSAUP15.EXE
