Upgraded from NetWare 5.1 SP6 DS 85.30 to NetWare 6.5 SP1
cause
SYS:\SYSTEM\SCHEMA\NDS500.SCH was flagged as Read-Only and did not run the updated NDS500.SCH
Attribute "Authoritative" was missing from schema
fix
Re-extend the schema with the SYS:\SYSTEM\SCHEMA\NDS500.SCH. After doing so, delete and recreate the LDAP Server and LDAP Group object

Troubleshooting steps:
Unloaded NLDAP.NLM.
Used DSTRACE.NLM - Turned on the following flags:
DSTRACE +VCLN
DSTRACE +CBUF
DSTRACE +ABUF
DSTRACE +AREQ
DSTRACE +LDAP
DSTRACE SCREEN ON
DSTRACE FILE ON
LOAD NLDAP Wait for the errors then:
DSTRACE FILE OFF

AREQ: [2004/01/27 10:06:16] DSACompare failed, no such attribute (-603).
When NLDAP loads, it checks schema for an attribute called "authoritative". In this case, there was no such attribute defined in schema. The attribute is defined in the SYS:\SYSTEM\SCHEMA\NDS500.SCH file. Even though NLDAP.NLM was looking for the "authoritative" attribute in schema, this attribute is not a mandatory or optional attribute for the LDAP server or LDAP group.
