Fixes included in the Novell Client v4.9 SP2 for Windows NT/2000/XP

change

- Update Agent fails with Administrator Rights option checked. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10088804.htm
- CUAGENT "Please wait" message is always in English.
- Update agent will not run from Mapped Network Drive.
- When using the update agent to a URL path the new version path is blank.
- Update Agent Only Updates From URL it will not update from UNC Path.
- Enhance NWGINA to detect the status of the LAN connection.
- Unable to logon to Windows NT domain with the Novell Client 4.9 client running on Windows 2003 Terminal Services. Receive the following error: "WinLogon ID 1219. Description: Logon rejected for xxxxxxxxx. Unable to obtain terminal server user configuration. Error: Access is denied." when trying to authenticate using RDP protocol.
- Microsoft Encrypted File System (EFS) has problems when passwords are being changed. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10090015.htm
- With AutoAdminLogin enabled, the password sent by Citrix Passthrough does not get used. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10090040.htm
- Novell Client 4.83 SP2 and BorderManager VPN Client blue screens.
- Windows Explorer will not load. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10090679.htm
- NWGINA registry mutex abandoned (all other waiter threads deadlock) in 4.90.SP1/4.83.SP3. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10090828.htm
- When local Caching fails, Excel is pulling the requested file twice over the wire. This is a problem for remote workers with slow leased lines. Excel reads each file twice by design, second read should happen from locally cached data.
- NWGINA must be able to pass the OEM and UTF8 password versions.
- Roaming profiles are not being applied. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10092430.htm
- ICA client password expired change also changes autoadminlogon in winlogon key. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10092499.htm
- Password expires with Zen DLU and 5 day cache causes incorrect local account to be listed. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10092500.htm
- Option to synchronize Windows password with NetWare password during login is disabled when NMAS is present. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10081981.htm
- If the client is installed on a w2k3 member server and there are Terminal Services Profiles defined in AD for a user and that user logs in to the member Windows 2003 server console, then that Terminal Services Profile gets pulled down to the server console.  The terminal services profile is only supposed to apply when in a Terminal Services session.
- If the InitialSynchronizeNTPasswordState is set when NMAS is enabled and the password field is disabled, although the synchronize checkbox will be disabled by the presence of NMAS the state of the checkbox will still be checked rather than un-checked, leading to the Windows password being set to the NMAS "random password" which is then unknown to the user on future logins.
- Don’t copy the Remote Management files twice on Windows 2000/XP.
- DHCP location profile setting gets lost when opening property page through network control panel. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10091319.htm

- SETUPNW /ACU does not appear to write Major/MinorInternalVersion vaules to registry on Windows NT. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10090890.htm
- Change the Novell Client installation to never automatically update the NetIdentity Agent.
- Setting DHCP options in UNATTEND.TXT causes DHCP services not to load on Windows NT. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10091827.htm
- Update agent service causing mapped drives to disappear. Un-checking the Administrator rights option fixes the problem.
- Added the Display Password Policies parameter to the Novell Client Properties, Advanced Menu Settings page.
- 4GIG: 4+ gig file properties are not accurate up on all Windows NT platforms.
- Added SLPv2 Support.
- Active Directory domain controller blue screen. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10091108.htm
- The SLP Client costs every response that comes back.

- Logging in as an expired account with a password length requirement.  Upon electing that "yes, I want to change my expired password" and then providing a too-short password, I was prompted that "password is too short; do you still want to change your password?"  If I elected "No", then neither my Windows nor NDS password had changed.  If I elected "Yes" the login still immediately proceeded (i.e. I was not re-presented the dialog to "try again") and the Windows account password was changed.
- Log in "Workstation Only" to workstation as a Windows user that is only a Power User, Users or other non-Administrators group member. Invoke Novell login (using red 'N', LOGINW32.EXE, or other non-GINA method) and enter a new username into the "Username" field.  Upon TABing out of the "Username" field, no LDAP contextless login lookup is performed. Repeat same scenario, except logging in as a Windows user that is an Administrators group member and the LDAP lookup is properly and successfully performed.
- Random error value returned by LGNWxx32 when NMAS DLL fails to load.
- SecureLogin LDAPAuth performs re-bind after workstation unlock in credential manager mode.
- LDAP contextless login fails with a non-resolvable-by-name NDS tree under the following two scenarios: 1. the user enters an IP address instead of a NDS tree name in an effort to overcome name resolution problems. The string representation of the IP address fails to match any NDS tree names configured in the LDAP Contextless Login configuration, so LDAP contextless login does not fire. 2. In treeless mode, the LDAP contextless login will successfully bind to an LDAP server and resolve which user object to login as, but the LDAP contextless login then populates the name of the NDS tree as returned by the LDAP server.  If this NDS tree name cannot be resolved by the workstation, login still fails even though contextless lookup was successful.
- Login name is not being checked to unlock workstation.
- After launching an ICA connection (with username, password, and domain supplied), the session initializes, but an error is displayed: “NetWare Security Message The system could not log you into the network.  Make sure. your name and connection information is correct, then type your password again.  Select the workstation only checkbox to login to the local workstation.”  After clearing this message, the login dialog is presented, and the user enters the password (with the workstation only checkbox checked), but the same message appears. If the user then de-selects the workstation only checkbox, then reselects it and re-enters his username, the login is successful.
- Blue Screen/hang in NWFILT.SYS. For more information, see http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10086493.htm
