Here are the steps to configure LDAP contextless login using the 4.9 client.

Client side configuration

1.  Right click the red N in the system tray and choose Client Properties.

2.  Select the LDAP Contextless Login

3.  Enable the LDAP Contextless Login check box.

4.  Type in the Tree name and use the Add button to add it to the list.

5.  Type in the IP address of the LDAP server.  With earlier versions of the client, it was recommended to use the IP address in this field.  With the 4.9 SP1 client and later, the DNS name can also be used.  The default settings for the server will work in most cases.  The default server settings appear below.



This configuration is not setup to use a Context Search Scope.  To do this, check the Enable LDAP Context Search Scope in the settings box.  List the context's that the client will search using the LDAP Context notation during the login process.  An example of this appears below.





The finished LDAP Contextless Login screen should look something like this. 



This completes the client side configuration of LDAP Contextless Login.

Server Side Configuration

For LDAP Contextless Login to work, specific rights must be assigned using ConsoleOne.  Either the PUBLIC object must have rights to search on the attributes specified, or an LDAP proxy user must be configured with rights to search on the attributed specified.  In this example PUBLIC will be configured to search on the CN or Common Name attribute.
