symptom

XNFS.NLM won't load : [INIT FAIL]

Error :  NFS Services Initialization failed during mount daemon initialization.

Error Code : 1011 : Unloading XNFS.NLM.

Error:  SERVER-5.70-1553:  Module initialization failed.  Module XNFS.NLM NOT loaded.  Module XNFS.NLM load status INIT FAIL.

fix

Something may be preventing XNFS.NLM from reading the SYS:ETC\EXPORTS file.  Track down and close any applications or connections that are using the file.  Use NetWare Remote Manager to check for file open / lock activity.  Remote Manager can be used to close the file.   As with any file, if all other methods fail to close the file, it can be forced closed by dismounting and remounting the volume (SYS in this case).
