cause
/var/adm/utmpx is corrupt.
fix
Use /usr/lib/acct/wtmpfix to fix the bad records in /var/adm/utmpx. Type "man wtmpfix" for the manual page.
Example:
- cd /var/adm
- /usr/lib/acct/wtmpfix < utmpx > utmpx.fixed
- chown root:bin utmpx.fixed
- chmod 644 utmpx.fixed
- mv utmpx.fixed utmpx

The fix requires root (superuser) privilege.
