Unable to connect to Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0
When selecting the Pages folder in the exteNd Application Server Designer, receive an error
Error: "An Error occurred while trying to communicate with the server. Either the server is not running, or a network error occurred.
Please select another database."
When selecting Source in the exteNd Application Server Designer, receive an error
Error: Assertion 'isNull' failed: 'Database XXXX already has source control information.' (java.lang.RuntimeException)
Able to connect to the Microsoft VSS databases from within the Microsoft VSS Explorer successfully once the database locations were updated
change
The name of the server that Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (VSS) Server was installed on was changed
cause
The exteNd Application Server Designer was attempting to connect to the "old" server name, which did not exist anymore.
fix
Need to manually edit the user.prefs file for the exteNd Application Server Designer to point to the new server name where Microsoft VSS is installed.
