fact

Novell ZENworks for Desktops 4

Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Roaming Profiles

Novell Application Launcher/Explorer

symptom

Roaming Profile does not close and creates multiple profiles with a .000, .001, etc extension when NAL application distribution is run .

fix

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1.  Create an application that only distributes one registry key (doesn't matter what registry key)
2.  Associate it to the user.
3.  Create a DLU policy for this user that is volatile.
4.  Login and run NALWIN32.EXE or NALDESK.EXE and distribute the app.
5.  Logoff the user without rebooting and log back in.

RESULTS:
Go look at the c:\Documents and Settings directory and there is a user folder and a user.000 folder.

You cannot even login as administrator at that point and delete the original profile folder.  You have to reboot the machine and then delete it.  It will give you an error that the usrclass.dat file is in use.

Fixed in ZENLITE.DLL dated 2/6/2003 or newer.
