symptom

Token passwords suddenly become invalid.

Internal clock of the token and the server suddenly out of sync.

cause

Hardware clock fault on the server caused the out of synch situation.
When the Time Window which is default plus or minus 3 minutes is exceeded a resynchronization is needed.

fix

Reset of the tokens enabled a new clock synchronization at next login to get the tokens back in sync.
When you have a lot of tokens that need to be reset can make this a time consuming operation.

A request to be able to influence this Time Window has been submitted to Novell Engineering as an enhancement request
