symptom

Error -602:The requested property value could not be found.

Error -602 The requested property value could not be found. Also please make sure you set up a working context in the Subscriber's properties

cause

The Subscriber object cannot login to eDirectory for one or more reasons:
1.  The password is wrong or not set
2.  The Working Context on the subscriber is not set

fix

First see if you can login to the tree as the subscriber object (username = "subscriber_<servername>" password = subscriber_password)

Ways to fix the problem:
1.  Delete the subscriber object, the password.txt file in the security container on that subscriber and reinstall the Subscriber.  (Make sure you reset the working context on that new object)
or
2.  Down the subscriber service on the server, modify the zentedXMLInfo attribute in the Other tab where it says <SetPassword>true</SetPassword> by deleting the word true and then restart the services.  Then try logging in like explained above.  (If you don't have the <SetPassword>true</SetPassword> in the zentedXMLInfo attribute you have not set the working context)

NOTE:  You should have a replica on the subscriber server that you are distributing NAL applications to so it can login and create them also.  This is the ONLY time the subscriber will connect to eDirectory.

note

The complete error is:  com.novell.admin.common.exceptions.UniqueSPIException: (Error -602) The requested property value could not be found.

 at com.novell.application.zenworks.ted.TED.main(TED.java, Compiled Code)
Exit code: -205

fix

The Working Context of the subscriber needs to be set correctly.  The working context is the context where the NAL application object will be copied to.  The Working Context needs to be already created before creating the NAL Distribution, and set on the subscriber.

note

Maintain the Source Tree Structure option is to duplicate the source tree's structure at the destination's location (the target Subscriber's working context) for placing the ZfD application objects.
