symptom
POA logfile reports " LDAP Error: 80 " and sometimes " LDAP Error: 81 "
ERROR: -150
Error: err = -649
Using LDAP to authenticate through GroupWise.
GroupWise users are unable to login to their post office and get the error: An LDAP error occurred
Servers running fine for 2-3 days then LDAP authentication stop working and -150 errors are reported at the system console and in DSTRACE.LOG.
cause
LDAP builds its table and instead of cleaning it back up it will continue to build on top of it which will eventually chew up all the memory on the box.
fix
Another possible cause is expired certificates, you can check this by running PKIDIAG on the servers prior to patching.
Apply the latest LDAPXS.NLM dated February 27, 2002 or later. This is located in NW51sp6.
cause
Corrupt post office setting information about the LDAP server.
fix
Toggle to trip the LDAP server setting in the domain database. IE: set to incorrect server save and make sure the change is replicated to the post office. If no admin messages about the change are seen on the POA, Rebuild secondary domain. Connect to secondary and rebuild post office.
cause
NLDAP.NLM is not loaded. Check by typing M NLDAP* on the server console. If NLDAP is loaded the NLM version and date will be listed following the M NLDAP* <enter> command.
fix
Load NLDAP on the server console.
