Pre Execution Environment (PXE)

symptom

PXE-E76:  Bad or missing multicast discovery address

Error occurs right after PXE is able to get a DHCP address and the addresses for the DHCP and PDHCP Servers.

In a trace (unfiltered), the client makes the correct DHCP requests, and the DHCP server and Proxy PDHCP server respond correctly.

cause

Problem with the PDHCP.NLM on a NetWare Server.

fix

Fixed in PDHCP.NLM dated 2-13-2002 or newer.  Can be found in the latest ZFD 3.2 patch.
