symptom

ConsoleOne Error: "Error saving the simple password for [user].[OU] to the directory.  The returned error code is -1,673"

NetWare Management Portal Error: "Http Error Code 412. Unable to set password for .[user].[OU].  NMAS error =-626"

Can't change or set simple passwords for users.

cause

In order to set the Simple Password using ConsoleOne there must be a server with a read/write replica of the user's object that is running NMAS.  In order to set the Simple Password using NAM the server that NAM is communicating with must have a read/write replica of the user's object.

fix

Place a copy of the Read/Write replica that holds the users who need Simple Passwords set on the NMAS server.
