fact
Novell NetWare 5.x
NDPS 2.20x
symptom
HPGATE.NLM caused server abend
All the Printer Agents within the NPDS manager are missing.
fix
Follow these steps to restore the NDPS database:
1. At the server, go into the NDPS Manager
2. Choose "NDPS Manager Status and Control"
3. Choose "Database Option"
4. Choose "Restore Database"
5. On the "Restore Database Options", choose "From NDS"
By default the Manager Database is saved to DS and the File System every night at 1 a.m. If the database has been lost or corrupted and this time has expired, the saved database is most likely corrupted as well. You can restore the database manually in this situation by replacing two files. The Manager Database by default is saved in the SYS:\NDPS\######.PSM directory within the files PSMDB.DAT and PSMDB.IDX. Restore the files from a known good backup and bounce the NDPS Manager.
